Vegemite vs Natto
My daughter gets the best of both worlds.
Natto; The best from Japan. Well, according to my wife.
Vegemite; The best from Australia. Well, according to me.
Round 1. My wife tries to feed Lina Natto. She spits it out after 1 try.
Round 2. I try to feed Lina vegemite on toast. She eats 1 whole slice.
Natto is knocked out by vegemite in Round 2.
ガチンコ勝負！『ベジマイト』対『納豆』
僕の娘（Lina）は、２つの国の代表的な食物に挑戦しました。
その代表的な食べ物とは・・・
妻がベスト・ワンとお薦めの日本代表の『納豆』。
そして、僕が推薦するオートラリア代表の『ベジマイト』。
ラウンド１：
妻が娘のＬｉｎａの口へ『納豆』を・・・
残念でした！ 無残にも、舌で拒絶されました。
それでは、ラウンド２：
僕が、トーストに『ベジマイト』を塗って、娘のＬｉｎａの口へ・・・
お見事でした！ 娘は、トースト一切れを全て平らげました。
つまり、『ベジマイト』は『納豆』を完全にノックアウト！
勝負ありです！
ところで、『ベジマイト』ってご存知ですか・・・？

デートが決定 ! !
日豪関係にとって2006年6月12日は非常に大事な日です。
サッカーワールドカップでオーストラリアと日本が戦う日ですよ。
僕は絶対観ますよ。札幌に居ますが、オーストラリアのチームを応援するよ。

遠い別世界
１月１日。もちろん、新しい年のスタートの日です。
多くの人が、家族や友人と過ごします。
でも、僕の両親はオーストラリアに居て、僕は日本に居ます。
普段は、そんなに気にならないのに、時として、僕と両親が
遠く離れた別世界にいることを思い知らされます。
１本電話さえすれば、そんな遠い距離は感じないのだけれど。
シドニーでの元日。南半球だから、夏真っ盛りです。
気温は摂氏40度を超え、たくさんの山火事が発生しました。
一方、こちらの札幌では、気温は氷点下。おまけに外は大雪です。
これって、 確かに「遠い別世界」でしょ！？
Another world away
The 1st of January, the start of a New Year. A day many people spend with
family and friends. Well, my parents are in Australia and
I am in Japan.
It feels like we are another world away for a number of reasons.
1 phone call makes the distance feel not so far away.
In Sydney the temperature on New Years Day was above 40 degrees Celcius
with a number of bush fires around the state. As for me, the
temperature was about -1 and a lot of snow. Surely another world away.
